How to decide who you should invite to your wedding

According to the 2022 In the 2022 Bridebook survey of 5500 couples, 26% said the biggest challenge they faced was not knowing who to invite, or how to make decisions/cuts from their guest list.

Deciding who to invite to your wedding can be a difficult task, but there are some key factors you can consider to make the process easier. Here are some tips:

Start with your must-invite list: Make a list of the people who absolutely must be at your wedding, like close family members, close friends, and anyone else who you cannot imagine getting married without.

Consider your budget: Your budget will likely determine the number of guests you can invite. Consider how much you can afford to spend per guest and try to keep your guest list within that limit.

Think about the venue: The size of your venue will also determine how many guests you can invite. Make sure you have a good idea of how many people your venue can comfortably accommodate before finalising your guest list.

Prioritise people who have been there for you: If you're having trouble deciding between inviting someone or not, prioritise the people who have been there for you in the past, or who you believe will be a significant part of your future.

Keep things fair: Try to keep your guest list balanced between your side and your partner's side of the family, as well as your friends and your partner's friends.

Don't feel obligated: Remember that it's your wedding day, and you don't have to invite anyone you don't want to, even if they are family members or close friends.

Ultimately, your wedding guest list should include the people who are most important to you and your partner. Don't worry too much about pleasing everyone else, and focus on creating a celebration that reflects your love and commitment to each other.
