Autumnal wedding inspiration at restored Suffolk barn with vintage & eco elements

The Wedding Barn & Old Hall is a grade 2 listed Suffolk barn that was recently restored to enhance its original beauty while adding modern elements.

We were inspired by natures autumnal crisp morning, leafy walks, and warm glowing sunsets for this shoot. It’s important to us to highlight environmentally friendly options so we showcased vintage furniture from Anthology Vintage Hire, botanically dyed textiles from Mia Sylvia and one of our favourite images from the shoot is of the bespoke signage from Bewilderly.

Hanging Edison bulbs over the tablescape and gold and amber tones in the tableware from CMA Hire created a glowing atmosphere.

We asked real-couple Ashlea & Sophie to join us as models and involved them in every decision we made, every couple’s love is individual, and this was no different.

Ashlea wore two different dresses at this shoot, both pre-loved and bringing the vintage style from Bridal Flamingo. The first is an embroidered floor-length ivory dress and the second had intricate pearl beading all over with batwing sleeves – Ashlea didn’t want to give that one back!

Sophie wanted to wear a suit, so we sourced a wine coloured fitted suit to match the colour palette and she chose a floral buttonhole to match Ashlea’s bouquet which had a wireframe instead of floral foam made by Holly at Foxglove Florals.

Ashlea wore an incredible bespoke pearl and gold leaf headband which was hand made by Donna Crain Surrey along with the ombre dyed cape and veil by Bex Brides.

For makeup, Emily Chantal Makeup used warm rust and plum tones on the eyes to compliment the styling. Her key products were Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette & Charlotte Tilbury Sexy Sienna Lipstick.

Sally from Hair By Duboux created soft feminine curls to frame Ashlea’s face for the first look before taking her hair into a soft half up/half down styled into a loose knot. For Sophie, Sally styled a smooth and sleek ponytail with a deep side part that gave a sophisticated glam look. Switching to a simplistic chignon style bun for the second look.
